Learning from the farmers
This full year program provide students with learning from the farmers and basic understanding of agriculture, rural village and sustainability, life experience with the farmers, communication ability and basic practical abilities.
(1) 4 classroom-based seminars (pre- and post-study, ESD seminars, and career studies)
(2) 5 field study tours to the rural farmers in Sasayama city through 4 seasons
(3) More than 1 time voluntary agricultural experience in the rural village

Theory on Agricultural Environment in Hyogo Prefecture(兵庫県農業環境論)
Understanding the structure of support
Utilize the field experience to deepen professional knowledge!
To understand the current issues of the measures and policies in Hyogo prefecture from the lecturers who implement them, and planning the policies on related themes, and groupworks.
(1) 10 lectures on measures and policies on JA and Hyogo prefecture.
(2) 4 group workshops with practical plans and policies

Practical Agronomics(実践農学)
Let's bring out your knowledge practice in the field!
The purpose is to deepen the understanding of agriculture and rural villages, and to acquire the practical planning and coordinating ability.
Students will plan, practice and evaluate the project which contribute to the sustainable agriculture and the rural villages.
Referring to the final proposal plan in the Theory on Agricultural Environment in Hyogo Prefecture,students will propose (1) a feasible project for rural development, (2) activity in the village (3) evaluate the activity (4) propose final plan |

During a period, working in the workplace such as food related company, public administration, JA,and farms, students will challenge the regional issues. They will deepen their professional knowledge and skills, as well as gain opportunity to plan future career. |

Let's help the farmers while gaining experience!
Through helping the farmers who are lacking manpower, students will experience real farming activity and deepen exchange with them. Call for help and announcement of events will be sent to the registered mail address. Please subscribe the dates which are convenient, and participate. Opportunity for participating the local festivals and paid volunteers are possible. |

Why not participate in the Kobe University ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) sub course?
This course is a unique interdisciplinary course including 4 faculties (Human Development, Literature, Economics and Agriculture) in Kobe University. Students can take different courses from other faculties, and thus the course is called a sub-course.
ESD subcourse provides diverse learning from different academic categories, corresponding to the various issues related to ESD. Some examples are such as 'Praciting Food and Agriculture (Cooperative Education on Food and Agriculture)' from the Faculty of Agriculture, 'Forming New Ethics' from the Faculty of Literature, 'Sustainable Economic Activities' from the Faculty of Economics, 'Transformability of Human' from the Faculty of Human Development. |
